2.01 Ct. Yellowish Green Peridot

This 2.01 carat peridot presents an exemplary emerald cut in a transparent, yellowish green tone, with exact dimensions of 7.52 by 5.88 by 5.17 mm, intense color intensity, and a clarity grade of slightly included as evaluated at eye level. The step cut architecture exhibits precise, parallel girdle to table facets that produce the classic hall of mirrors effect unique to emerald cuts, and the broad table and long crown steps deliver large, even color planes that emphasize the gemate olive green hue rather than dispersive sparkle. Facet junctions are crisp and well defined, the pavilion steps align to promote controlled light return, and the excellent polish maximizes light transmission and surface luster. This specimen is unenhanced, the color and clarity wholly natural, and its origin in Pakistan contributes to the characteristic vivid saturation and clean body tone associated with selected deposits from that region. From a technical durability and aesthetic retention perspective, this peridot will continue to captivate for years when set and maintained with its material properties in mind. The gem displays the optical behavior expected of olivine group material, including a moderate refractive index and distinct birefringence that subtly enriches the perceived depth of color across differing viewing angles, and its natural, unheated color will not shift with time under normal wear. Given peridot hardness within the mid range of gem materials, careful setting choices such as protective bezel or secure prong settings, along with routine cleaning to preserve facet crispness, will ensure long term integrity and brilliance. We stand behind the craftsmanship evidenced in the cutting and finishing of this piece, and for the connoisseur who values technical precision and authentic provenance this peridot offers a rare combination of precise faceting, intense natural color, and sound clarity, a gem whose layered step facets and pure tone will retain and reveal its beauty through seasons of light and use.
