0.72 Ct. Green (Lime Green) Peridot

When you are searching for a single stone that brings a fresh but refined personality to an engagement ring, an everyday piece, or a collector cabinet, this gem answers that brief beautifully. This is a transparent 0.72 carat Asscher octagon shape peridot from Pakistan, with precise measurements of 5.12 x 5.10 x 3.91 mm, a true lime green tone and an intense color presence that reads bright and lively in real life. The cut is Asscher, giving the stone a geometric, vintage inspired profile that refracts light in step like flashes, and the polish has been graded excellent so that each facet meets smoothly and the surface returns light crisply. Clarity is slightly included when evaluated at eye level, which in a stone of this size translates to character without compromising sparkle, and importantly this gem is natural with no enhancement, a quality that collectors and mindful buyers prize. Here we prioritize stones that combine beauty and integrity, and this peridot exemplifies that promise for anyone seeking a distinctive centerpiece. For someone choosing a stone that must perform visually and in design, the Asscher cut gives you a mirror like interior brilliance and a sophisticated octagonal silhouette that sits cleanly in modern and classic settings. The slightly included clarity gives the peridot a natural identity, and the excellent polish accentuates the crisp lines of the faceting, producing a compact yet vibrant face up. Designers will find the near square outline and the exacting dimensions versatile for four prong solitaires, low bezel settings that emphasize the geometry, or as a dramatic center in trilogy or halo designs where the lime green will contrast beautifully with warm yellow gold or stand out against clean white metal. The intensity of the green is such that the stone reads as lively and youthful on the finger, while still offering a degree of refinement that suits more formal jewelry objectives. If you are a collector focused on provenance, the Pakistani origin is notable for producing peridot with a clarity and hue that is both lively and distinct, and because this gem is untreated, what you see is the stone in its natural state. Durability is always a consideration when choosing a colored gemstone for regular wear, so it is important to compare Mohs hardness in practical terms. Peridot typically sits at about 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. By comparison, diamond rates at 10, and corundum varieties such as sapphire and ruby rate at 9, while quartz lies at 7. This means peridot is softer than corundum and diamond, and roughly comparable to or slightly softer than quartz, making it more susceptible to surface abrasion from harder materials and more likely to show wear over years of heavy everyday use. The slightly included clarity of this stone also means it can be more vulnerable to chipping if struck at an angle, so design choices that offer protection are advisable. For clients who want daily wearability, a bezel setting or low profile prongs will help shield the girdle and pavilion from knocks. For occasional wear or for pieces that will be rotated among other jewelry, the striking color and cut make this peridot an excellent choice that will retain sparkle with sensible care. Caring for this peridot is straightforward and will preserve its beauty for years, and we are here to guide you in selecting the right setting and maintenance routine. Clean gently with warm soapy water and a soft brush, rinse thoroughly, and dry with a soft cloth, avoiding rough ultrasonic cleaners or steam that could stress inclusions or settings. Store the stone separately from harder gems to reduce the risk of scratches, and consider protective mounting options if you intend to wear the piece during activity. If you are seeking a memorable engagement ring, a bright statement piece, or a collector worthy peridot that is natural and untreated, this 0.72 carat Asscher octagon stone offers a rare combination of vivid color, refined faceting, and trustworthy origin.
