1.07 Ct. Purple Spinel

A rare allure arrives in an elegant marquise form, a transparent purple spinel weighing 1.07 carat, sourced from the storied gem fields of Ceylon Sri Lanka, a gem that speaks to connoisseurs who seek something uniquely theirs. The dimensions of 9.40 x 5.04 x 3.86 mm give this gemstone a poised silhouette that is neither ostentatious nor common, it is an offering for those who appreciate discreet grandeur. Cut in a faceted style with a mixed brilliant cut, and finished to an excellent polish, this spinel exhibits an intense color intensity that remains uncompromised by any enhancement, preserved in its natural state. Clarity is graded as slightly included, evaluated at eye level, which lends the stone a character that is authentic rather than manufactured, and it confirms that this is a genuine collector piece. The color of this purple spinel is its most compelling statement, a vivid and saturated hue that will stand out in any jewelry setting, whether set as the centerpiece of a refined cocktail ring, paired in delicate drop earrings, or suspended as a solitary pendant. Under direct light the mixed brilliant cut disperses flashes of violet and deep royal purple, while softer ambient light brings forward cool undertones that create depth and motion within the stone. Because this spinel is unenhanced, its vibrant tone is the result of natural formation, a trait that immediately sets it apart from treated alternatives. In a white metal setting such as platinum or white gold the stone will sing with crisp contrast and modern poise, whereas in yellow or rose gold it will deliver a warmer, more romantic presence, each combination elevating the gem in a distinct way that will attract attention without shouting. Beyond color, the expertly executed mixed brilliant cut amplifies light return across the marquise silhouette, producing scintillation that flatters hands and neckline alike. The excellent polish ensures each facet edge is smooth and reflective, allowing the intense purple to read uniformly from multiple angles, while the slightly included clarity offers a small, natural fingerprint that verifies the stone as untouched and alive. Spinel is prized not only for its color, but also for durability, with a hardness that permits everyday wear when set with care, making this piece suitable for a treasured ring or an intimately worn pendant. The proportions of this stone allow jewelers to design settings that emphasize length and elegance, and its weight of 1.07 carat provides a presence that is noticeable yet refined, an ideal balance for bespoke commissions from designers who focus on timeless elegance. Owning this purple marquise spinel is an invitation to join an exclusive circle of collectors and clients who value rarity, provenance, and natural beauty, those who prefer a singular stone over commonplace options. Availability of stones with this combination of intense natural color, excellent polish, and unenhanced origin is limited, which is precisely why we present this gem as a bespoke opportunity. We are prepared to assist with mounting recommendations, secure shipping, and guidance on long term care to preserve its vivid charm, and we welcome inquiries for custom creations that will ensure this gem becomes a signature heirloom. For collectors who desire a stone that will stand out in any jewelry setting, and who appreciate the quiet prestige of a naturally extraordinary gem, this marquise purple spinel is an exceptional choice, a private treasure awaiting the right patron.
