1.40 Ct. Reddish Brown Tourmaline

There are gemstones that speak to a sense of lineage and endurance, and this 1.40 carat oval reddish brown tourmaline is one such stone. Its 1.40 carat weight announces itself with quiet confidence, a precise measure that stands as a clear indicator of premium quality in a world where weight and presence matter deeply. Tourmaline has journeyed through history as a stone of fascination and reverence, treasured by ancient civilizations for its varied palette and optical life. This particular gem, offered by us, carries that lineage into the present, embodying both the storied past of gem trade and the modern standards of lapidary excellence. The reddish brown hue is layered with subtle warmth, a color that reads as refined and classic, suitable for the custodian of tradition who values heirloom quality and the slow passage of beauty from one generation to the next. Measured at 7.40 x 5.70 x 5.17 mm, this oval shape tourmaline has been precision cut with a mixed brilliant faceting scheme, designed to maximize sparkle while preserving weight and depth of color. At 1.40 carats the gem achieves an ideal balance, large enough to make a statement, yet proportioned for classic settings that age gracefully. Transparency is superb, with the stone described as transparent to the eye, and a clarity grade of very slightly included when evaluated at eye level. These very slight inclusions are testament to the natural origin of the gem, adding character without diminishing the visual impact. The medium color intensity gives the reddish brown tone a presence that remains versatile, pairing with warm metals and traditional designs. The finish is impeccable, an excellent polish that allows light to dance across the mixed brilliant facets, reinforcing the sense that this is a premium, museum ready specimen. The fact that this tourmaline has no enhancement elevates its status among collectors and connoisseurs who prize the unaltered truth of natural color and clarity. Untreated gemstones carry with them the narrative of earth and time, they tell a story of geological processes rather than human intervention. Originating from Mozambique, this gem connects to a region known for producing tourmalines of exceptional color and clarity, a provenance that resonates with buyers who respect traceable lineage and geological pedigree. The 1.40 carat weight in this context becomes more than a number, it becomes a promise of substance and integrity. In classic jewelry forms such as a solitaire ring, a pendant framed by a modest halo, or a timeless three stone composition, the 1.40 carat oval will anchor designs with age old dignity and compositional balance. The mixed brilliant cut will respond to candlelight and daylight with a steady, nuanced scintillation that readies the gem for formal occasions and everyday elegance alike. When you choose a gemstone with such deliberate qualities, you invest in more than ornamentation, you secure a piece of legacy. We stand behind this Mozambique tourmaline with a commitment to authenticity, providing clear documentation of its natural, untreated state, its specific dimensions, and its clarity grading as very slightly included at eye level. The 1.40 carat weight confirms its premium standing, a weight class that collectors recognize as both desirable and practical. Owning this stone is an act of preservation, an embrace of the quiet power of classic design and geological time.
