1.64 Ct. Green Zircon

This pear shaped green zircon is a finely proportioned 1.64 carat gem measuring 9.14 x 6.37 x 3.68 mm, cut in a mixed brilliant style to combine the depth and color retention of step-like facets with the scintillation and fire of brilliant cutting. The stone is transparent with an intense green color and an excellent polish, attributes that maximize its luster and light return. Clarity is graded as slightly included at eye level, meaning small, natural inclusions are present but do not materially interrupt the gem???s overall transparency or brilliance when viewed in typical jewelry settings. This zircon is natural and untreated, no enhancement, and originates from Ceylon, Sri Lanka, a provenance long respected for producing high quality zircons with vivid hues and clean crystal material. The mixed brilliant cut enhances scintillation from the table and crown facets while preserving color depth through the pavilion, producing lively flashes of light and subtle dispersion that give zircon its characteristic fire and sparkle. For the educated buyer, this gem presents a compelling balance of rarity, aesthetic performance, and practicality. At 1.64 carats the stone is substantial enough to serve as a striking center in a ring, pendant, or bespoke design, while the pear shape offers versatility for both classic and contemporary settings. The absence of treatments increases its investment merit, as natural, untreated colored zircons from Sri Lanka are less common in the market than heat- or irradiation-enhanced material. Slight inclusions, visible only on close inspection, attest to the gem???s natural origin and do not detract from the intense color or the overall brilliance produced by the excellent polish and mixed brilliant facet arrangement. With sensible care, avoiding extreme heat and harsh chemicals and selecting a protective setting appropriate to zircon???s Mohs hardness range, this stone will retain its vivid color and lively sparkle for many years. We are pleased to offer this Ceylon green zircon as an example of untreated natural beauty, a piece that will continue to captivate through its optical performance, provenance, and the enduring appeal of finely cut, naturally colored gemstones.
