10.10 Ct. Peach Cabochon Moonstone

There is a quiet poetry to holding this one of a kind treasure, a translucent peach moonstone that seems to keep a small sunrise inside its oval heart, ten point one zero carats in weight, sixteen point zero four by twelve point zero one by seven point two eight millimeters in gentle proportion, fashioned as a cabochon to let light breathe across its surface, graded as very very slightly included at eye level so that its interior reads as mostly pure with tiny signatures that tell a story, a color intensity that is intense without being loud, an excellent polish that renders the skin of the gem buttery and smooth, no enhancement applied to alter its truth, and an origin in Ceylon Sri Lanka that carries the venerable legacy of island mined moonstones. Allow me to speak as one who has walked the markets and the mines, who has felt the cold metal of tools and the warm hush of gem rooms, I see in this peach moonstone the patient work of earth and time, and I see in it a promise that makes a ring a vow and a pendant an heirloom. When you lift this cabochon to the light it performs like a secret lover who smiles and then hides, adularescence unfurling as a soft, silvery veil that moves beneath the peach surface, a floating sheen that can be cool or warm depending on the light, sometimes whispering blue, sometimes whispering pearl, always alive and shifting. The oval shape breathes with the body of the stone, the curves inviting the eye to travel and the excellent polish allowing the gaze to slide like silk, while the very very slightly included clarity gives the gem character rather than flaw, tiny natural fingerprints that tell of the depth from which it came. Because it is translucent rather than opaque, light does not simply reflect, it passes and revisits, turning the moonstone into a little lantern of refracted memory, and because no enhancement has altered this essence, every glimmer is honest, every tone is true to its birth in Ceylon Sri Lanka. Imagine this stone set close to the skin, catching shoulder light as you move, offering a private sunrise that warms with every heartbeat. Observe how it will shine in different lights, this is where the moonstone shows both theater and intimacy. In the silvered hush of morning, when light is cool and patient, adularescence rises slowly across the dome like a fine mist, a pearly sheet that slides from one edge to the other, lending the peach body a gentle contrast that reads as soft and hopeful. In bright midday sun the stone becomes more forthright, its intense color intensity showing deeper apricot notes, the shimmer becoming a lively band that skips across the surface as you adjust the stone to the sun, each movement composing a small sequence of light. Under warm incandescent glow or candlelight the peach warms and deepens, the inner sheen turning creamier, the whole gem conducting flame like a miniature lantern, casting a romantic halo that flatters skin and softens lines. In the cool, controlled beams of modern LED lighting or gallery spotlights the adularescence can take on a sharper, more silvery edge, precise and crystalline, while lower, diffuse twilight and real moonlight summon the most poetic response, a rarest whisper of blue and white that slides slowly beneath the dome, a reflection of the night sky in miniature. The cabochon cut maximizes these displays because its smooth convex form encourages light to play, and the excellent polish ensures every glide of light is uninterrupted, so the stone sings in a variety of settings with grace. Consider jewelry possibilities, think of a bezel that will cradle the cabochon and protect its edge, or an open back that will allow light to enter and backlight the translucent body, each choice will change how the gem lives on the hand or at the throat. For an engagement ring this peach moonstone will read as intimate and soulful, the ten point one zero carats giving presence without ostentation, the oval silhouette flattering the finger, the adularescence offering a kind of promise that feels like a vow whispered in the dark. As a pendant it will swing and catch, offering different moods through the day, and mounted in warm gold the peach will melt into the metal, while set in white gold or platinum the silvery flashes will be emphasized for contrast. Because it bears the quiet markings of very very slight inclusions it is honest and individual, because it has not been enhanced it is true to its origin in Ceylon Sri Lanka, and because it has been polished to an excellent finish it is tactile and ready for the hands of life. When you choose this stone through us you are choosing a living piece of earth and light, a gem that will age with memories, that will answer candlelight with the same intimacy as high noon, that will be a companion for vows and quiet moments alike.
