4.99 Ct. Yellow Citrine

This 4.99 carat round yellow citrine from Ceylon presents an immediate technical appeal to the discerning eye, with precise dimensions of 10.93 x 11.02 x 8.20 mm that confirm its substantial presence in a classic round profile. The cutting style is faceted, executed as a mixed brilliant cut that combines a brilliant facet arrangement on the crown with a modified pavilion structure to enhance both sparkle and depth of color. The table is proportioned to balance light return and color saturation, while the crown facets are shaped to create multiple crown star and upper girdle reflections that maximize face up brilliance. The pavilion architecture has been adjusted to optimize return angles for citrine, producing scintillation that remains lively across a variety of light sources. The girdle appears well controlled in thickness, supporting secure setting options without compromising the gem symmetry or optical performance. Color and clarity are key to this stone, and both are handled with technical precision. The citrine exhibits an intense golden yellow hue with strong saturation and a tone that reads vivid without veering into brownish or overly dark zones, maintaining crisp chroma across the entire table field. This color intensity is particularly effective in a mixed brilliant design, because the crown facet pattern disperses light while the pavilion depth reinforces the stone body color, resulting in a luminous, honeyed appearance that reads as lively and saturated in direct illumination and as warmly radiant in softer light. Clarity is graded as very slightly included when evaluated at eye level, indicating minimal internal features that do not materially interfere with the overall face up presentation. These inclusions are minor in scale and distribution, and they have been considered in the cutting process so that they are either masked by facet junctions or situated near the girdle, thereby preserving the clean visual performance from standard viewing angles. The gemstone has not been subjected to any enhancement procedures, ensuring that the color and clarity are entirely natural attributes of this Ceylon citrine. Craftsmanship and finish are attested by an excellent polish and careful facet execution, which together contribute to what can be described as a flawless finish from a workmanship perspective. The polish quality provides mirror like facet planes that transmit and reflect light without the haze or abrasion that can reduce brightness, while the facet junctions are sharp and consistent to maintain even facet alignment and symmetry. This level of finish enhances the optical behavior of the gem from every angle, allowing the mixed brilliant scheme to perform optimally. As the stone is rotated or viewed under changing lighting conditions, the interplay of pinpoint flashes and larger facet flashes remains coherent and balanced, a direct result of disciplined cutting proportions and meticulous lapidary control. For setting considerations, the controlled girdle and well centered table ensure predictable mounting results, enabling jewelers to design settings that showcase the citrine face up while protecting the pavilion and girdle profile in daily wear. We present this citrine as a technically refined and visually arresting specimen suitable for collectors and fine jewelry applications alike. Its combination of a substantial 4.99 carat weight, exacting mixed brilliant faceting, intense natural color, and an excellent polish makes it a versatile gem for rings, pendants, and bespoke designs where both optical performance and natural provenance are valued. Origin from Ceylon contributes to its trade appeal, providing a geological and market context that is respected among connoisseurs of natural colored stones. In hand, the gem reads as bright, lively, and impressive, and because no enhancements have been applied, the stone offers a transparent assurance of authenticity and structural integrity. For clients who appraise gemstones by technical criteria and by visible performance, this citrine delivers on both counts, offering a finely executed lapidary work that enhances its beauty from every viewing angle.
